“Miscavige keeps a number of dogs, including five beagles. He had blue vests made up for each of them, with four stripes on the shoulder epaulets, indicating the rank of Sea Org Captain. He insists that people salute the dogs as they parade by.”

thanks for the money is the compilation of the 50+ hours of hi-8 video footage we shot over the 5 years we were a band. the camera wasn’t always rolling, but we still managed to capture a brief glimpse of the highs and lows of a slightly popular touring band.
we always preferred to keep our sets short. 7 - 9 songs, which usually clocked in at around 30 minutes, with another half hour of set up and tear down. this left 23 hours remaining in each day to fill when we weren’t playing. dealing with the free time is usually the biggest mountain to climb on tour. boredom mountain.
our hope with thanks for the money is an honest representation of what it was like in the van, at the show and all the other random spots in between. thanks to everyone who sent in footage. sorry in advance for all the giggling from behind the camera.
I’m applying, because the few months where I wrote for the Jukebox on Stylus were a blast (even if I was a dumb 18 year old idiot when I was doing it and had no context for pop music at all), but if you are someone who identifies as something other than “straight white dude” – meaning if you’re a woman, if you’re queer, if you’re POC, whatever – please considerapplying. The Jukebox is a great experience and a pretty fun way to do music criticism.
